Confirmation

Sacrament of Confirmation - St. Ignatius offers a seven week course to prepare baptized Catholic adults to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. This is offered once a year in the spring, shortly before the bishop comes to our parish to confirm eighth graders in our parochial school. The next course begins in 2009. Interested adults may call the Parish House no earlier than late February 2009.

Are you a High School Student who has not yet been confirmed? If you would like to find out more about the process, please email Alison Donohue. We are gathering a small group of high school students who are interested in being confirmed at this year’s Easter Vigil.  Sessions to begin in January.

If you are an adult who is not a Roman Catholic, and if you are interested in more information about becoming a Roman Catholic, you should know that the Church sponsors a program called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This is a process through which an adult is Baptized, Confirmed and receives Eucharist in the Catholic Church. For more information about this Rite, leave a message for Ms. Maureen Fullam at the Parish House. Calling for information in no way obligates the caller. In fact, the process itself is deliberately structured to allow one to inquire about the Church and to proceed only if he or she is comfortable with such a decision and wishes to do so.
