Ignatian Volunteer Corps

YOUR MOST IMPORTANT WORK MAY BEGIN AFTER YOU RETIRE

The NYC chapter of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps will host three information sessions for retired men and women this Spring in the Parish Lounge. The Ignatian Volunteer Corps provides semi retired and retired adults age 50 and over the opportunity to volunteer two days a week from mid September through mid June serving the needs of people who are economically impoverished at nonprofit schools and agencies in the local community. Ignatian Volunteers work for a more just society and to grow deeper in Christian faith by reflecting and praying on a monthly basis with other volunteers in the Jesuit tradition in addition to other spiritual formation opportunities including retreats and spiritual direction.

Information sessions will be scheduled for the upcoming season soon. This will be an opportunity to meet several Saint Ignatius parishioners currently serving in the New York City IVC chapter and explore God’s call to grow spiritually through sharing time and talent with those in need of assistance including children, teens, the elderly, new immigrants, and many others experiencing economic and social hardship. We look forward to talking with you!
