Meeting Christ in Prayer is an interactive 8-week guided prayer experience for small groups. Based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, it introduces participants to various ways of praying and provides an opportunity to support one another through faith sharing.

Who is this program for?
Adults who want to renew their Christian faith or enrich their prayer life.

Meeting Christ in Prayer is for you if you:
• have little or no experience in praying with others;
• are hungry for a deeper spiritual life;
• are actively seeking to learn more about your faith;
• are seeking spiritual renewal;
• are seeking to form regular prayer habits or seeking new ones;
• desire the support of your Christian community; or
• want to be aware of God’s presence in your daily life.

What does it offer?
Meeting Christ in Prayer offers you the opportunity to take part in a retreat within your daily life, during which you will be asked to commit to 20 to 30 minutes of daily prayer and reflection exercises.

You will be supported throughout the retreat with eight weekly small-group meetings that will include group prayer, guided meditation, faith sharing and reflection; and an overview of prayer exercises that will be practiced during the week.

As part of a small trust-filled community and through prayer, shared experiences and explorations of faith, you will deepen your connection with our Creator as you discern the many graces that you receive from God in your daily life.

Meeting Christ in Prayer can inspire a profound sense of mission that invites you to a new level of discipleship.

Cost: A sliding scale of $30-$50, which covers all materials. A good faith offering is appreciated.

Caring for the Caregiver
Time: Saturday, February 22 at 9:30 am
Location: Parish Lounge

Many people today provide care for elderly or ill family members - one of the most spiritually, emotionally, and physically challenging experiences we endure. However, who cares for the caregiver? Without self-care, we run a high risk of burn-out.

Our presentations will seek to name the challenges of care-giving and explore ways we can create space to care for ourselves. This program will include talks by Brian Pinter, pastoral associate, quiet time, prayer, and discussion.

Lunch will be provided.

Cost: $25 free will offering.

To RSVP, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Space is limited.

Italy “Unplugged”
Time: Tuesday, February 25 at 8:00 pm

Featuring
Choir of St. Ignatius Loyola
K. Scott Warren, conductor

Italian music excels at the grand and the intimate alike. Amidst a rich tapestry of musical styles and textures, we find the maestri Rossini and Verdi, masters of opera and other large forms, returning to the unaccompanied choir. Anchored by one of the great masses of Palestrina, the first half of this concert explores a seldom-encountered side of Rossini and Verdi with two sumptuous motets by each composer. We complete the evening with Ildebrando Pizetti’s luminous Requiem, composed in the early 1920’s.

Program
Rossini: Cantemus Domino
Rossini: O salutaris hostia
Palestrina: Missa Sine Nomine a 6
Verdi: Ave Maria & Lauda alla Vergine Maria (from Quattro pezzi sacri)

Intermission

Pizzetti: Requiem
