Just Faith Workshop
Time: Thursday, November 05 at 6:30 pm
Location: Zoom

Just Faith Workshop spearheaded by Ignatian Social Justice Ministry

Faith and Racial Equity introduces a framework for understanding and recognizing racial disparities and takes a deeper dive into specific issues related to power and privilege.

Three primary goals of this workshop:
Develop awareness of the ways that racial privilege impacts our communities and ourselves
Through a deep dive into the Gospel of Luke, learn how Jesus’s teachings guide us in seeking racial justice in today’s world.
Learn practical tools for becoming anti-racist, and for effecting change in our communities.

Join with Pastoral Associate, Jean Santopatre, and ISJ member and facilitator, Laura De Boisblanc and ISJ Ministry beginning November 5 at 6:30-8 pm every other Thursday to discuss Faith & Racial Equity. We will be discussing the following books:
I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown
White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo

SVdP Meeting: Zoom
Time: Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00 pm
Location: On Zoom

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been an active ministry at Saint Ignatius Loyola since 1865. SVdP has continued serving our neighbors in need through several wars, the Great Depression, and the September 11th attacks. In the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown, we have continued our mission to serve those in need.

Our meetings begin with a prayer and spiritual reflection, followed by an agenda of items geared toward service toward the Poor. We also build and grow in friendship by sharing updates and happenings in our lives. Please consider joining us as we serve our neighbors in need.

SVdP meets biweekly (year-round) on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM via Zoom. Meeting attendees can choose to participate online via smartphone/computer or via telephone.

Please e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for login information.
