Education

Education on every level is a cornerstone of the Jesuit tradition.  St. Ignatius Loyola is proud to offer exceptional educational opportunities for children of all ages.  Beginning with children from two to five years old, the Day Nursery provides young children with a challenging preschool program emphasizing creative play, social interactions, and cognitive skills.  Students at the Grammar School, serving kindergarten through eighth grade, receive a balanced education emphasizing the spiritual, intellectual, and social development of the individual.  For students enrolled in other public or private schools, the parish also offers a comprehensive Interparish Religious Education program that continues the on-going faith formation process and guides children as they prepare to receive the sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation.

As was previously announced, our weekend Mass schedule has been revised. While we will still have the 5:30 PM Mass on Saturday, the Sunday schedule will be different. On Sunday, we will celebrate Masses in the Church at 8:00 AM, 10:15 AM, 12:30 PM, and 5:30 PM.

Registration closes every Saturday at 12 Noon.

In addition to the modified schedule, how you attend Mass will change as well. We invite you to view this video, which outlines the health and safety guidelines that are and will continue to be in place. In addition, the video will orient you to the new norms for entering and leaving the church, and for receiving communion.

Church of St. Ignatius Loyola A/V Appeal

On Sunday, June 7th, Fr. Yesalonia announced an ambitious expansion of our livestream capabilities at the parish.

Daily Mass will continue to livestream from the Lady Chapel every day at 5:30 PM.

Later this summer, we will have the capability to livestream Sunday Mass from Church. Additionally, screens will be installed in the Church and so that pre-recorded music can be broadcast into the Church during services.

Eventually, services and events will be livestreamed from the Lady Chapel, the Church, and Wallace Hall.

Work on this project in the Church will commence later this summer.

Please support this important initiative, which has been budgeted at $350,000.

Donations can be made here.

From the Pastor

3 July 2020

Dear Parishioners,

I write a short letter this week to invite us to take some time this holiday weekend and pray.

Let us pray in thanksgiving for God’s compassionate love for us and the gift of our faith in His Son.

Let us pray with heartfelt gratitude for our ability once again to worship together at Mass in our beloved church.

Let us pray for one another that we may enjoy a safe and healthy summertime.

Let us pray for those who seek comfort and healing during this time of pandemic.

Let us pray in gratitude for the first-responders in our city who valiantly rushed to the aid of those in urgent need of care because of the coronavirus.

Let us pray that the Holy Spirit guides scientists and medical professionals in their research to find a cure for the coronavirus.

Let us pray for those elected officials and health care professionals who acknowledged from its very onset the real threat of the pandemic and took the necessary steps to combat it and flatten the curve in our city and state.

Let us pray for our country as we celebrate the anniversary of our independence that we have the courage to defend the democratic and moral principles upon which our nation was founded so that all who seek freedom, equality, and justice will find it on our shores

Let us pray with a true conviction of heart for all who suffer the torment of being cast aside from society because of the color of their skin, ethnic origin, nationality, faith tradition, sexual orientation, economic status, or lack of citizenship.

Finally, let us pray for our children that they inherit a world free of fear, greed, discrimination, bigotry, and injustice.

Sincerely in the Lord,
Fr. Yesalonia
